Ann Moody Pearls

Mississippi River Pearls in Muscatine

As I was visiting my friend, Ann Moody, in her delightful shop, AnnsArts, on mainstreet in Muscatine one day she told me about her Muscatine pearls that she bought locally at an auction.

I happened to have my camera with and she let me take a photo. These are not minuscule pearls, but good sizes. Their baroque shapes make them unique and beautiful. I'm glad there are still some Mississippi River pearls left in our city. They are local treasures.

Thank you Ann for sharing your lovely pearls.

And when in Muscatine, Ann's shop is a "must do". She has many things relating to our history such as local vintage pearl buttons.

You never know....
by: Kari

In Muscatine, you never know when someone will pop up with a pearl or two they've had tucked away in an envelope or had put into a piece of jewelry. Often when visiting with folks and I tell them I sell and research pearls, they enjoy telling their family pearl stories.
