Nice Job i have been Abalone diving 50years yes at 10years old now i have 28 Pearls But not as big as you have ...i have all kind of abalone Pearls i have one that is round like a ball and as Blue like the Sky ....keep it Don't let it go just for $$$$$$

You should store your pearl in water. Best in a glass jar away from light. My father did this for over 50 years.in water and out of water and the ones that did discolor where the ones out of water. when they are not near water they turn dull looking. also tend to have hair fractures after even a few years out of water. they also loose their color with time not in water. in water put in a dark place. they gain more color over long periods of time.

Beautiful pearl.....I have a question about caring for an abalone pearl as I recently found one....I am currently storeing it in cotton bedding in jewerly box....Also, any recomendations on appraisels?...
