Brits Squeamish about Term "Quahog"

Quahog: edible round clam.
In consumer tests,
we've found that up to 83 per cent of the British public either "strongly disapprove of" or "feel uncomfortable with" the idea of eating anything called quahog. So we advised the Quahog Marketing Board to soften the name of their excellent product. Result? "Clamdelicious!" will be on your supermarket shelves come late spring.

I don't think we Americans have a problem with eating something called Quahog...maybe it's an
"American Thing".
