Don't worry, there's still life after casting pearls.

Casting Pearls

A pearl of great price
that is what Jesus said the
Kingdom of Heaven was
...like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls,
who when he had found one pearl of great price,
went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Matthew 13:44-46
We enter into the Kingdom of Heaven through the
cross of Christ
His shed blood that atones for our sin and opens up a
door to
New Life
Forgiveness, hope, joy, peace...
Freely we give and freely we receive.
And yet we are taught
Do not give dogs what is sacred;
do not throw your pearls to pigs.
If you do, they may trample them under their feet,
and then turn and tear you to pieces.

Matthew 7:6
WISDOM
Guarding our heart with all diligence for out of it comes
the issues of life.
Knowing what to give...when to give it and whom to
give it to.
What to say and what not to say. Mary hid things in
her heart.
Joseph did not and he was betrayed by his brothers.
For it is not an enemy who
reproaches me;
then I could bear it,
Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself
against me;
then I could hide from him.
But it was you, a man my equal,
My companion and my aquaintance.
We took sweet counsel together, and walked to the
house of God in the throng.

Psalm 55:12-14
Still, Jesus prayed...
"Father forgive them they know not what they have done."

Recently, I was reflecting on a situation.
It appeared that I had been casting pearls to the wrong person,
I ended up getting trampled. A little bit torn up.
But I am learning....
Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:18-19

Lost Pearls Found Again

Thirty four years ago I was given a gift of a beautiful
string of pearls from Japan. I had long ago lost them.
I had forgotten the exquisiteness of their simplicity. I
did not remember their purity.
The other day while rummaging through a seldom
used suitcase...
You guessed it! My pearls fell out of a hidden pocket. Tucked away for a time when I needed them the most. Do they need some attention...restringing perhaps?
A bit of cleaning and polishing? Maybe a new silk bag
to protect them?
Yes, they certainly do.

Just like me.
But my pearls were intact.

I got my pearls back!

Come, and let us return to the Lord;
For He has torn, but He will heal us:
He has stricken, But He will bind us up.
After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.
Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord,
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.

Hosea 6: 1-3
