Chincoteague, Md pearl found in 1959

by Kate Gallagher
(Talbot County, Maryland, USA)

My father returned from a trip to Chincoteague where he used to hunt and fish with locals, and in his pocket was a roundish-to-oval, white-to-deep purple quahog pearl, which he gave me -- in a little gold-wire cage to hang on necklace -- for my eighth birthday, July 17, 1959. My mother promptly put it aside for safe-keeping (which is why I have it now!) ... I am considering selling it but have not been able to get anyone to appraise it! Suggestions welcome.

I recommend

Hi,

Thanks for sharing about your pearl. I think having it in a cage on a necklace is a great way to enjoy these quahog pearls.

I was a little confused by your dates, however.

Here are 2 people that I recommend to appraise your quahog pearl.
