I have Quahog Pearls

by george
(johnston rhode island)

I am a commercial fisherman. About 2 weeks ago while digging for steamers I found a quahog(about 6 actually). Well, while I was taking a break I decided to cook the little necks on our stove in the boat. When I opened 1 of them I saw the biggest pearl I have ever seen. I talked to several shuckers since then and they all have said the same thing. That is the biggest that they had ever seen also.

Hi,

Yes, we'd love to see some photos. You can email them to me here:

Try and keep them below 100K. I'd be happy to add them to your page. There is quite a bit of interest in Quahog pearls....so please send some photos.

It's always exciting to find natural pearls....my favorites!

Yay for a fellow Rhode Islander finding one! Do you have a picture? I'd love to see the pearl you found.
