King Crab Leg "Pearl" on a 1" ribbon

While enjoying a rare, king crab leg dinner on Friday past, 4/18/08, something rolled around my plate.
It certainly looks like a pearl.
I am not certain of the process but the results are shown below.
Shown on a 1-inch ribbon.

Thanks for sharing your find and photo. It's been very interesting to read about these crab leg "pearls". And even if they aren't technically pearls they certainly are a fascinating phenomenon.
