Because the Chinese have flooded the market with pretty, but abundantly produced, smaller akoya pearls, and very pretty, but too abundant saltwater pearls, it stands to reason that the larger japanese pearls made by the original careful experts, will gain more value with time. I have always loved gemstones, but have just now become addicted to pearls.
