Quahog Clam Pearls

by Angel C

A couple months ago my dad was eating clams and while eating one he bit into something hard. He was about to throw it away but he realized it was a pearl. It is not very big but it is perfectly oval shaped without blemishes. It is darker purple at one end and lightness towards the other end. He has since then put it into a 14k gold ring. Last week my dad was once again eating clams and once again he bit into a pearl. This one is a bit smaller and rounder and like the other one is a deeper dark purple in one end and lighter at the other. We have not been able to appraise these pearls but would appreciate any information. Or if anyone is interested in purchasing them send a message.

Quahog pearls
by: Kari

Hi Angel,

It is very unusual that your dad has found 2 quahog/clam pearl in such a short time. Folks have written saying they hope for finding one in their lifetime.

I think I'll start buying little neck clams! My kids have been asking me what I want for Christmas...maybe that's a good idea to have a meal of clams.

Here are two folks who appraise quahog pearls. You might want to check them out.

David in New York

Gina in Tennessee

I also sell a few quahog pearls on my site for folks on a commission basis. If that interests you, please contact me for details.

God bless and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas.

Thank you for sharing!
