25 carat quahog pearl

25 carat quahog pearl

I found this pearl while at work. It was found among dozens of discarded eaten and uneaten Quahogs. I was picking up trash overflowing from a garbage can when I looked down and saw it. It weighs 5 Grams and seems perfectly round.

Oh my...

Hello Dennis,

Well, I'd say you were well rewarded for picking up the over flow trash!

That is a gorgeous quahog pearl.

EGL lab in New York City appraises these between $200-800/carat. If yours is 5 grams, that's 25 carats!

Wow, lucky you. Maybe you'll find a few more, now that you know what to look for.

Maybe others will find them too. You could start a "movement" at Houghton's Pond!

God bless and thanks for sharing.
