We hope it's a pearl worth lots :)

Syd's Pearl

Syd's Pearl

Hi there,

My 10 year old daughter just found what we hope is a pearl deep in the sand in Orange Beach, AL along a small stretch of sand along the bay. We don't know a lot about pearls and the different types but it doesn't look like anything we've seen. I've taken a picture of it and it's a little smaller than a die for size relevance. It's blue with a swirl of yellowish green/gold going through it. It is perfectly round and has beautiful reflection. Pearl is her birthstone, so she is very excited to find out about it no matter what it turns out to be.

Thank you!

Pearl bracelet
by: Kari

Hi,

Thanks for your address. I will send your daughter a free white child pearl bracelet....I love giving. Have you read my free children's book about the day I got over 5,000 orders for free baby bracelets? That was a bit much! See it here:
Thousands of Free Baby Bracelets

I seriously doubt if what your daughter, Syd, found is a pearl, but an jeweler should be able to tell you for sure.

I do appreciate you stopping by....

Thank You
by: 10 Year Old's Mom

Kari,

We emailed you, but I wanted to add something. I looked online at many pictures of marbles and I can see air pocket bubbles whithin the marbles in every photo. I don't see this in what we found. The texture of my daughters object seems different than glass and not as heavy. In your honest opinion do you think there's any chance it could be a pearl? We're just having fun with the idea and understand the odds.

Thanks for your help and generosity! My daughter will love your gift for her upcoming birthday!

A gift for your daughter
by: Kari

Hi, It's me again.

I want to give your daughter a free pearl bracelet just because you took the time to add your question about your find to my site and because I don't want her to be disappointed.

If you email me her name and address I will send a free child's pearl bracelet. And let me know which color she likes, pink, white or lavender.

Email me at: karipearls(AT)gmail(DOT)com

It looks like a marble
by: Kari

Hi....sorry to disappoint, but to me it looks like a marble. I have never seen any type of pearl that would look like that with such brilliant blue and green colors.

I think you should have a local jeweler look at it, just to be sure.

I never hurts to hope, but I would be surprised if that was a pearl.

Thanks for sharing.

Any other thoughts from anyone?
