Never knew there was such a thing as a crab pearl

by blondbrain
(Phila Pa)

Bit into a wonderful big King crab 0nly to find a pearl exactly the color of the crab & the size of an average pearl. Took it back to seafood store & owner said he never saw 1 before. Gave me a free order of crab if he could keep it. I like to eat so gave it to him.

Crab color?
by: Kari

Hello,

So, what color was the "pearl"? Cream, reddish? I think it's really funny that the owner wanted to keep it and traded with you for food. That's great! I guess it was a good deal for both of you. You should tell him about this site so he can read about others who have found a "pearl" in crab meat. Maybe he will frame it and lots of folks will be buying from him in hopes to find one.

Thanks for sharing!
