Arkansas freshwater pearl

by Melinda
(Hot Springs, Arkansas)

These pearls have also been found in Arkansas in the Arkansas River. I know because my grandfather once found one while fishing.

Arkansas was a big pearling region
by: Kari

Melinda,

Thanks for sharing about your grandfather finding a pearl in Arkansas. That region was a big pearling district and famous for its natural freshwater pearls. Some people still market these pearls.
