Did i find a natural Pearl?

by Corey Wayne Greif

So i am a Oyster Shucker/Cook at an Oyster Bar in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I was wondering if what I had found in these two oysters from Virginia could be Pearls and if so what kind of pearls. If they are pearls that is great because I've just picked up a new hobby of making rings, so i would be making my girlfriend a new pearl ring!

Look like blister pearls
by: Kari

Hi Corey,

If I am seeing the photo correctly, it looks like they are natural blister pearls. So, yes, they are pearls and naturally would be oyster pearls.

I think they would work beautifully in a ring or even two rings so it's good you have making rings as a new hobby!

We'd love to see photos of the finished ring or rings! I'm sure they will be very special.

We appreciate you sharing your good finds!
Kari
