Finding an Oyster Pearl Inside Of an Unusually Large Oyster

(Mckinney)

Me and a friend were eating at A1 Super Buffet when I bit into an Oyster. I felt something in my mouth and worried. Was it my tooth? No. I stared at the amazing pearl.

It is the size of 1 and a half red hots. Is it worth much?

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being worst and 10 being best,

Shine-5
Cleanliness-7
Size Compared to normal pearl- half
Color-white
Shape-oval

I found this pearl on 5/6/13. Should I call the news?

Why not call the news!
by: Kari

Hi Mckinney,

Why not call the news. They are probably looking for local interest stories and it would be good for business in your city and especially that restaurant. It's nice your pearl has luster as most pearls from edible oysters are not too lustrous. Luster is one of the most important features of a natural pearl, any pearl for that matter. Also, the size of yours sounds pretty good. Prices of natural pearls are figured by carat weight. Maybe a local jeweler could weigh it for you. Natural pearls are always special and rare. They are also gaining in popularity and becoming natural pearl jewelry is becoming investment worthy. Thanks for sharing!
