Found a Pearl in Slidell, La!

by chris
(slidell, la)

We live in Slidell, La. We had intentions for months to try the seafood distributor across the street, so we finally ventured over there and got a few lbs of shrimp and a pint of oysters. We buttered and pan fried our oysters and I bit down into one and thought that one of my teeth had chipped for something. I jokingly said...Hhhmm must be a pearl hahaha. Sure enough! It was! Iddi Bitti perfectly round, one side colored a bit of a light caramel and the other side pure white with the little oyster swirls. Both my sons fought over it. Before dinner was over..we lost it. Just don't know where it went. I am still thinking one of the boys has it, but I would hate to accuse them. Oh well, it was funny anyway.

Oh dear!
by: Kari

Hi Chris,
Oh, dear, too bad about losing the pearl, even if it was a tiny one...still a treasure! Glad you enjoyed it while you had it and have a good attitude about not having it any more. A tiny one would be hard to enjoy and keep track of, but then you could have put it in a tiny vial on a necklace or something to appreciate for a long time, but momentary fun is also nice! Thanks for letting us know there are pearls "out there" to be found.
