I love this antique necklace. I'm asking for opinions of what kind of antique pearl necklace I have. It's hand knotted round pearls with a mother of pearl cameo framed in gold.

Hi Laura,

It is hard to tell from the photos but to me they look more like mother of pearl or shell beads than pearls.

Have you taken it to some local jewelers? They should be able to explain to you what you have.
