Pink Mother of Pearl buttons can make lovely jewelry
View earrings, pins and pendants here made from pink mother of pearl buttons.
Many years ago button factory workers in Muscatine, Iowa, former Pearl Button Capital of the World, produced these gorgeous (now vintage) pink mother of pearl sculpted buttons. The color sizzles with exhubrance. When my husband saw me wearing this pendant on a white pearl necklace, he said, "It makes me want to kiss you."
Pearl buttons like this didn't just happen off an assembly line. Each button was handled many times, going through a series of processes, piece by piece.
They're no longer made here and supplies are limited. When they're gone, they're gone. For these pieces, vintage buckles and two hole buttons and shank buttons were used. None pierced earrings available, removable pendants and brooches.
