Anniversary Pearl

by Bill
(Honolulu)

We went to a fancy restaurant in Honolulu to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. We ordered a half dozen raw oysters as an appetizer. My wife picked the first one and bit into something thinking it was a piece of shell. Low and behold it was a very tiny pearl, about 1mm. We thought of course that this was some kind of special omen, especially given our anniversary, but I can't find anything about such an omen on the internet. I'm sure it means another good 30 years of married bliss.

Great things happen on anniversaries
by: Kari

Hi Bill,

I guess memorable things happen on anniversaries, right?

I am pleased that you appreciate and enjoy a pearl that is only 1mm. That's a tiny pearl, but a pearl all the same.

I just sent an order of tiny seed pearls to the U.K. to be used for initials on the backs of miniature paintings. It's neat when even the smallest of pearls can be used and valued.

Thanks for sharing! And take good care of that little anniversary pearl!
