Beautiful Auction Find

I recently purchased this necklace for $26 at an online auction. I learned from your site that the pendant is made of blister pearls. The pearls are quite heavy and pass the gritty tooth test. I think these would be considered baroque pearls but I am unsure if they would be freshwater or south sea pearls. Can you tell? Did I make a wise purchase?

Hello Karen, That's lovely and it looks quite long too. Those blisters would be Chinese freshwater cultured as well as the pearls. Chinese cultured baroque pearls are inexpensive but for $26, I think you did great. I'm sure you'll get much enjoyment out of wearing it.
