Blue Cabochon Pearl

by Suzanne Marie

Today I made mussel soup from some huge blue mussels that my brother gathered at Bodega Bay Marina in California.

I felt something hard in my mouth and took it out.
There was a gunmetal grey pearl, a bit bigger than a bb, and flat on one side. I think it'll make a nice cabochon. First time I found a saltwater mussel pearl.

Hi Suzanne,

Congrats on finding a natural blue mussel pearl and I'm glad you are going to enjoy it and make a nice piece of memory jewelry from it.

Thanks for sharing!
