Dad Finds Pearls

I don't have a picture of the pearls but wanted to share this story with you. My Dad found not one but two pearls in an oyster about 35 years ago and one was larger than the other. He always said you was going to make a ring for my Mom and one for me. My mother passed away 27 years ago at a young age and Dad never made either one of the rings. My son, Mike, who is now 22 years old came across these two pearls while going through my Dad's belongings (Dad passed away in 2006).

Mike had a ring made for me out of the smaller stone. You can only imagine how surprised and thrilled I was to receive this gift from my son and my Dad. Mike will one day have the larger one made into a pendant. He asked the jeweler to polish it just a little so that the black in the pearl still shows. Mike is an artist and sees beauty in the rawest form. It is so beautiful and so meaningful.

Beautiful story
by: Kari

Gloria,

That's a beautiful story about your son making you a ring from your dad's pearls. If you can take a photo I will be happy to add it to you page for you. You can email it to me karipearls (AT) gmail (DOT) com

I enjoy hearing not only about folks finding natural pearls but that they enjoy them by making them into something they can wear and show off to their friends.

I'm sure you think of your dad often just because of your ring....and what a thoughtful son you have.

God bless and thanks for sharing!
