Tiny pearls glued into blown glass "clam shell"

I took my Mom out for a belated Mothers Day dinner at my local Chinese buffet, and when my Mom saw me eating oysters she said, "I wouldn't eat oysters...unless they had pearls in them." I just shrugged my shoulders and continued eating. And just like clockwork I bit into something; I though it might be part of the shell or a chipped tooth, but it was a round pearl.


Because I was taking glass blowing classes at the time I decided to make a glass clam and glued the pearl inside. You can see the clam on "deviant art" under "sauron9". Check it out

Hi Kenneth, Funny about your mom's comment and you found a pearl. That's neat. I love stories like that. Although it is hard to actually see the pearl in the photos, your blown glass clam shell is lovely! Thanks for sharing. I love hearing about finding pearls! God bless, Kari
