What initially impressed me about the Hankyu Department store in Osaka, Japan was the refreshing Christmas carol in English playing over the sound system when I entered....

"Oh, come let us adore Him, Oh, come let us adore Him. Jesus, to Him be all glory given..."

After finding the neat Mikimoto store on the 4th floor, I hustled on up the many escalators to the 9th floor of the Hankyu Department store, past Baccarat, Royal Crown Derby, and Wedgewood, to name a few, where there is a International Mikimoto store.

This Mikimoto International is a smaller open store with several International gift items with the new Christmas collection prominently displayed and the "item of the week," which was a lovely white dish decorated with a golden handle in the center and a tiny dangling pearl.

Christmas tree shaped dishes held removable ornaments, such a wreaths, at the top which could be used as brooches.

Several of these dishes together form a nice circular set.

Also new are removable fur additions to Mikimoto watch bands in a variety of furs. The friendly salesgirl was wearing an attractive Mikimoto initial pin with a dangling pearl.

The popular Mikimoto International key chain as well as the Mikimoto ballpoint pen were available.

The busy Christmas season was already in full swing in Osaka in mid November and many shoppers were bustling everywhere in this elite place finding famous name brand gifts for their loved ones.

Fortunately, for me, money could be exchanged on this floor, which pleasantly surprised me because it was a Sunday and we were running out of yen.
