Pearl Found Day After Christmas

While out to dinner the day after Christmas at a seafood restaurant I found a pearl. I ordered oysters and was eating one when I bit down on something hard and spit it out and lo and behold it was a pearl! Of course my first reaction was no it couldn't be but yes, it is!! I have always wanted to find one but never had, and almost doubted that's where they came from as we eat oysters often. I would like to know if it is worth anything though.

Hi Mary, Yes, you had a great Christmas gift...wow, and I think it's great that you had often hoped to find a pearl and now you have. Pearls have value, even those found in eatable oysters, but it depends upon many factors. Often the sentimental value outweighs any monetary value. It would make a great keepsake of a great Christmas! Thank you for sharing.
