Natural oysters pearls

Hi,

I have found some wild oysters while diving in south east of England and they had pearls so I know they are genuine.I would like to find out if they have any value. The pearls are all diferent sizes and colours, the weights of the pearls are around 0.25g, 0.07g and 0.03g. I am availabe if you need to do any tests to verify the value. If you have any questions please let me know.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Exciting to find pearls
by: Kari

Hello Gianluca,

I love hearing about finding natural pearls. Are these all from the same type of oysters? I'm wondering because of the big variety of colors, etc.

Natural pearls have value, even if just for the sake of a keepsake memory. Most often, pearls from edible oysters lack luster which is probably the most important aspect of a natural pearl, so the value normally isn't too great. Also, are these quite small? It's hard to tell from the photo. Size also plays a part in value.

Thank you for sharing. I don't know how many oysters you harvested but it's amazing so found so many pearls. They'd be neat all mounted together in a brooch or pendant.

God bless, Kari
