A Chaumet necklace features three strands comprising 191 natural pearls and a clasp bearing a total of 0.80 carats of diamonds. It exceeded its EUR 600,000 ($703,167) upper estimate to go under the hammer for EUR 1.6 million ($1.8 million).
Christie’s sold a single strand necklace featuring 41 natural pearls for EUR 504,000 ($590,661), over 16 times its EUR 30,000 ($35,158) upper estimate.
