A pearl necklace that rubbed shoulders with Elvis Presley is expected to sell for thousands at auction later this month.
The necklace was purchased by then-up-and-coming Berkshire actress Suzanna Leigh in 1962 on the King’s Road in London.
Shortly afterwards she acted in her first television role, which led to her being cast as Elvis Presley’s love interest, June ‘Friday’ Hudson in the 1966 film Paradise, Hawaiian Style.
It is going under the hammer at Auctioneum in Bristol on June 30th and is expected to attract world-wide interest.
In the movie, Elvis plays ex-airline pilot Rick Richards who, along with his buddy Danny Kohana, decides to set up a helicopter charter business in Hawaii. His reckless flying and careless flirting with local women nearly scupper their business plans, and his secretary – played by Leigh – is far from impressed.
