The first day of the forum also highlighted different aspects of pearl diving such as specific diving skills, pearl trade and arts and crafts made out of pearls.

?Celebrating National Day is an occasion for us to look forward to more successes but also one in which to revive our history and heritage, said the minister in his opening remarks. Pearl diving was not only a way of earning a livelihood for our forefathers, it was a way of life, and with it came skills like patience and discipline, so it is important to look back on that part of our past.
