Quahog pearl

IN 2001 I WENT CLAMMING ON LONG BEACH ISLAND NEW JERSEY. WHILE ENJOYING THE DAYS CATCH I BIT DOWN ON A CLAM WHICH CONTAINED A PEARL THAT CRACKED MY TOOTH. THIS CAUSED ME TO HAVE ROOT CANAL PERFORMED(3 TIMES) AND FINALLY HAVING THE TOOTH EXTRACTED. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING A DENTAL IMPLANT. ALL TOLD THIS PEARL WILL COST ME AROUND 7500 DOLLARS. TODAY I'M ON YOUR WEBSITE TRYING TO RECOUP SOME OF MY LOSSES BY ASCERTAINING THE VALUE OF SAID PEARL. IT IS APPROXIMATELY 3/16 OF AN INCH IN DIAMETER AND IS LIGHT LAVENDER FADING TO CREAMY WHITE. IT IS ALMOST PERFECTLY ROUND, INCANDESCENT AND APPEARS TO HAVE CRACK IN IT BUT DOESN'T. THE PEARL RESEMBLES THE ONE SITTING NEXT TO THE NICKLE.

Oh, dear!

Hi William,

Thank you for sharing but I'm sorry that a wonderful natural pearl has caused you so much trouble and expense. Oh, dear, three root canals do not sound like fun!

I wish I could tell you that your little pearl will cover all the expenses but unfortunately, I don't think such a small quahog pearl is worth over the amount it has cost you.

EGL in NYC appraises quahog pearls between $200-800/carat, so that will give you some idea as to value of your pearl.

Pearl stories, no matter how excruciating, are always interesting, however, and I thank you for taking the time to write!
