I found a pearl in a clam at dinner

Hello, My family and I were at dinner and I found a pearl in a clam. I did not even know that clams produced pearls. it is a drop shaped pearl, white at the small end and a beautiful lavender purple color at the large end. Anyone know what it might be worth? I would love for someone to have it that will really enjoy it. I do know that it is to delicate to drill a hole in it so I think the perfect setting will be some kind of golden cage. What month is the pearl the gem for? My birthday is in October and my gem is a Opal. Any information would be helpful. Thanks, Gina
