My grandfather was in the seafood business and these are some of the pearls he found over the years. These are from the VA coast, most likely found in the 70s or earlier. I had one put into an old ring setting. Curious as to the value of pearls such as these....

Nice quahog pearl collection. I like the ring too. I'm sure you enjoy wearing that.

A lab in NYC used to appraise quahog pearls between $200-800/carat, depending upon color, size, shape, etc. Dark Purple would be on the higher end.

Natural pearls are normally sold by carat weight.
