Natural abalone pearl jewelry set

Natural abalone pearl jewelry set

I have been diving off the northern California coast for 30+ years. I have found numerous abalone pearls but these are the ones that I had made into jewelry for my wife a few years ago. I had a huge pearl that I gave to the guy that made the jewelry (I didn't know what it was worth, but I'm sure he did!) Anyway just wanted to share these gorgeous pearls. The big one came out of a 10+ inch abalone a few years ago. The necklace pearl and the ear ring pearls are all from different abalone. They are a perfect set. The ring pearl is over 2k, it does have a flat spot on the bottom, that's why I chose this unique setting, to put the pearl lower in the ring so it wouldn't hit on things and cradle it in gold! Anyone know what this set is worth?

Beautiful Abalone pearl set
by: Kari

I really like this abalone pearl set. I'm amazed at how well the natural abalone pearls match up. You must have quite a few in your collection to come up with such a nicely matched set. I agree with Gary, the ring is especially nice but I also like the simple elegance of the pendant and earrings...great job!

Thanks for sharing your treasures.

I had the necklace and ear rings mounted at the Coin Shop in Ukiah. The ring was set by D William Jewlers in Ukiah. My wife picked out the setting in a book and they set it. I'm impressed, I did get them all just south of Elk!
