Wild Red Abalone Pearl

This is a close to perfectly formed Wild Red Abalone Pearl found off the coast of Northern California. It is over 4 inches long, and 2-1/4 inches wide at its widest point, and this pearl is slightly less than 300 carats. Abalone pearls are very rare - possibly 1 out of 1.5 million may possess a small pearl, but something of this size would definitely qualify as a unique find. Though typical clam pearls are round, however, Abalone pearls are known to have a horn shaped figure. This pearl possesses the beautiful unique greenish blue luster common to the Northern California Abalones.

Hi, This is a public YouTube video so I don't know the lighting that was used and no, it is not my pearl. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment.
