South Sea Pearls

South Sea Pearls

I went to an estate sale about 27 years ago and noticed these beautiful pearls sitting on a table...hence, I purchased them.

They are a bit heavy (106.1 grms) for my small frame but have a calming feel to them.

I especially like the fact that they do not have a clasp.

There are 115, 2 ct. pearls, knotted.

Pearl Purchase
by: Kari

Hi Maureen,

Thanks for your post and photo. It's fun to hear about pearls purchased at estate sales many years ago.

I'm wondering why you think they are South Sea? Did you have an expert look at them?

I also like the fact that they are a longer rope necklace not needing a clasp. Longer pearl necklaces are really fun to wear and sometimes I even clamp longer pearl necklaces together with a pretty brooch or pair them with other types of necklaces.

I've made 65" pearl ropes which can be almost endless ways.

Estate sales are such a treasure hunt. You never know what you'll find. If I ever get the chance to go I head right for the jewelry like you maybe did.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your pearl necklace treasure on my website.

God bless and I hope you had a Merry Christmas!
